Hilaturas Arnau S.L. is one of the few companies in the EU producing yarns for technical textiles, especially from recycled materials. The company manufactures fashion and technical yarns for the European market, specializing in niche markets with high added value, accessing high-end markets and customers, and producing recycled fibers from production or end-of-life waste.
ROLE IN UTILE PROJECT
HARNAU participate to the UTILE project by repurposing aramid waste from helmets and bulletproof vests to produce new yarns for SPE applications, such as anti-cut protective gloves and flame-retardant fabrics.
HARNAU also provides recycled aramid yarns to CITTERIO for weaving and manufacturing bio-based pre-pregs for helmets (CS1) and to AITEX for special purpose personal protection suits (CS2).
